SP characteristics
The focus of the master’s programme in Hispanic Studies is on modern philology. Graduates will be required to study the language and literature of a specific region from both a synchronic and a diachronic perspective and with regard to current theory and the history and culture of the region. Hispanic Studies is inevitably concerned with two large regions, Spain and Hispanic America. Therefore, a programme in Hispanic Studies, similarly to English Studies and unlike most philological subjects, covers study of literature from both European and American perspectives in a balanced manner.
