The MA degree programme provides deep insight into the main areas of interest of contemporary political theory. It equips students with decent methodological skills and teaches them how to do independent analytical work. The core of the course is a focus on current theories of democracy and approaches to the study of political identities. The curriculum deals with history of political thought, modern ideologies, dynamics of democracy, the capacity of state, transformations of political regimes, political cultures, political and religious identities and environmentalism.

Graduate profile for the public:
The MA graduate is capable of employing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods and analytical tools to the study of contemporary political and social phenomena. He/she knows current western literature on political theory, political philosophy, history of political ideas, ideology and comparative politics. The graduate has general knowledge of democratic theory and anglo-american as well as continental debates on politics. He/she is able to critically examine current crisies, cultural wars and transformation of political and religious identities from various perspectives.
