SP characteristics

The follow-up Master Programme in Philosophy is primarily designed for successful graduates of the Bachelor Programme in Philosophy. A necessary precondition of this study is expert knowledge and skills corresponding to those of the Philosophy Bachelor Programme graduates at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, including language skills and the corresponding scope of primary and secondary philosophical literature.

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate has acquired an expert knowledge of methodology of philosophical work, of the basic domains of philosophical reflexion, of the historical rooting and hermeneutical conditions of the contemporary reglementation of philosophy, and of employment of the relevant conceptual, logical and liguistic tools. As for competencies, the graduate is therefore fully equipped for an autonomous scientific work in philosophy and related disciplines. He/she is able to deploy his knowledge in service both of critical assessment and of setting forth principal and innovative standpoints. As for practical prospects, the graduate is well-suited to apply for academic positions in humanities, positions in media and publishing houses, as a teacher, and leading and/or analytic positions in governmental structures.
