Seminar Requirements

The course is completed with a credit.

 To receive credit, students must attend all seminars and successfully complete all micro tests throughout the semester.

 Before each seminar, students are required to complete the theoretical preparation at home, and a test on the given topic will be taken at the beginning of the seminar in the Moodle course “Basics of Patient Care“.

Sylabus

Lecture:

1. The prevention and control of infection. Desinfection, asepsis, antisepsis, handwashing, masking, gowning, barrier technigue. (Zámečníková 3)

Attendance at the first lecture is optional but strongly encouraged, as it covers a fundamental topic: hand hygiene.

Seminars:

1. Assisting patients with hygiene. Dying patient care.
2. Measuring vital signs
3. Administering medications (oral, topical). Oxygen therapy
4. Administering medication by injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal).
5. Collection of biological material, blood sample collection
6. Peripheral IV catheter. Infusion therapy.
