The main focus of the Internal Medicine II course is on diabetes, haematology, transfusion medicine and rheumatology.

Familiarity with the principles of echocardiography. Training in selected technical skills. Requirements necessary for the credit: Participation in seminars and practical exercises A maximum of two excused absences are allowed, one for practicals and one for seminars. Excused absences must be sent only in advance in the excuse form. In case of a higher number of absences, the situation will be resolved individually with the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine. Tests before the seminars: Before the selected seminars, students will complete a self-study knowledge check in the form of tests before the seminars in Moodle (4 tests).
focused on knowledge of haematology and ABCDE approach within the scope of the state examination questions (10 questions) and describing and interpreting ecg curves within the range defined by the graduate profile (20 questions) The time limit for the test is 50 minutes and required success rate is ≥ 70 %. Practicals
Students completing 14 practical exercises focusing on the following topics:
Transfusion Medicine (1 practical):
Students will visit the Transfusion Department of the University Hospital, where they will learn about the basics of transfusion medicine, they will deal with issues related to blood donation, as well as the preparation and indications for the administration of blood derivatives and transfusion products.
During the practicals in the haematology clinic, students will learn about the most common haematological diseases, their diagnosis and principles of therapy.
During the practicals on the topic of diabetes, students will learn about the practical procedures for the care of patients with diabetes.
During the rheumatology practicals, students will be presented with model cases of rheumatologic diseases to demonstrate basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Practicals on general internal medicine will be conducted in all standard departments of internal medicine clinics or in the departments of individual teachers. During the practicals, students will focus on clinical examination, ancillary test results, differential diagnosis and therapeutic procedures.
ABCDE approach (simulator training) (1 practical) Training of acute patient examination using ABCDE approach.
During the Technical Skills practicals, students will practice basic procedures that are performed in internal medicine.
