SP characteristics

The programme aims to educate professionals in the field of museum studies who understand the professional needs of the museum and gallery sector and the broader context of cultural heritage and its preservation. The programme is unique, combining theoretical assumptions, methodology, and practical skills, working with evidence of the cultural and natural development of the world. The curriculum is professionally and practically oriented, using the empirical knowledge of cultural heritage and memory institutions to the maximum. It also immanently uses other disciplines and fields: history, ethnology, art history, new media studies, management, history didactics, library science, archival studies, and heritage conservation. It also uses the main classification and overview from the natural sciences and curatorial practice itself. As a professional programme, it thus fulfils, among other things, the role of a link between educational activities and other roles within the intrinsic partnership with institutions in cultural heritage sector (museums, galleries, libraries).
