The study program prepares special educators - teachers - to create equal opportunities for pupils with special educational needs in access to education at the 2nd and 3rd level of schools and to provide adequate support in education to all pupils with respect to their individual educational needs. A graduate of the program Special Education for Lower and Upper Secondary School Teachers - is able to implement innovations into teaching at the 2nd level of elementary schools and upper secondary schools by qualified methodological procedures. As an expert in the field of special educational assessment, a graduate reflects the full spectrum of special educational needs of pupils arising from their disabilities, health disadvantages, social disadvantages, linguistic, ethnic or national differences, or extraordinary talent. The program of Teaching Special Education for the 2nd Stage of Elementary School and Upper Secondary School is characterized by strengthening the interdisciplinary links of special education with general education, didactics and methodology of educational subjects. It contains a combination of theoretical and practical training of the future teacher. It is conceived with regard to the increasing demands on the quality of support of pupils' special educational needs by the teacher and the school. It reflects the inclusive trend in education as well as the renowned traditions of Czech education.

Graduate profile for the public:
The profile of the graduate of the Master's program Special Education for Lower and Upper Secondary School Teachers is created in accordance with the international teachers profile of TE4I and with the educational policy objectives of the Czech Republic. Graduates of the study program find employment in elementary and upper secondary schools in the Czech Republic as a teacher and / or school special educator performing educational, diagnostic and counseling activities. The graduate is also professionally equipped to teach the subject of Special Education at secondary or colleges. Graduate is prepared to apply modern didactic methods, to elaborate relevant educational areas of framework curriculum documents into the curriculum of a particular elementary, secondary school or college.
