The study is primarily aimed at the creation of professional, pedagogical-psychological, communicative and other personal competences in health education teachers at secondary and high schools or in other professions in education and coordination activities in health education. Apart of working on professional scientific base (which is a follow –up to the BA study programme content) the stress is put on Health Education methodology and on application of expert and didactic competencies in educational practice.
In the M.A study programme pedagogical-psychological and health education methodology competencies are jointly developed to allow close interconnection between theory and practice in the programme. The dominant feature of the follow-up M.A programme is the study of Health Education methodology which, by its concept, allows organic interconnection of the health education field with pedagogical-psychological disciplines. It also allows the interconnection with the pedagogical practice.
Special focus is on the creation of educational programmes as one of the objectives of the study programme is to prepare a health education teacher who are professionally competent and who take an active part in cross-disciplinary projects on health support and protection.

Graduate profile for the public:
The M.A. graduates of the study programme Health Education for lower and higher secondary school educators demonstrate broad knowledge of the scientific field included in the programme Health Education. They know the principles in the field, the structure and its relation to related fields. They are able to interconnect the subject content, to apply modern teaching methodology of Health Education, in a creative way create programmes in educational areas from the national curricula for the local school context and coordinate health education programmes at lower and higher secondary schools.
They can apply interdisciplinary knowledge about human health in counselling in the field of health prevention, children´s safety and children´s and youth risk behaviour prevention. Based on gained competences, they are able to design educational programmes aimed at health support in cross-curricular settings, including outside school environment.
