Study programmes

Study program for Arts Education for 2nd level of elementary school and secondary schools provides complete master education which combines two fields. It continues a bachelor study program Visual Arts and Education. It is the only study program, which focuses on educating Art teachers and develops reflection of author artistic production at the same time and which does this within the scope of interdisciplinary theoretical reflection, which connects visual art with its theory and Art pedagogy and didactics in the field of art. The master study program focuses on personal development of students in the field of reflected author production, in the field of visual literacy and in the field of pedagogy. Acquiring knowledge of theory and history of art is considered important, Art Education´s didactic and reflective approach to their own production is crucial as well. The study program is conceived as dynamical intersection of the three fields that have been mentioned above. The graduate actively participates in them all, is able to interconnect the acquired knowledge and skills, reflects and applies them in appropriate contexts. HE/she individually uses concepts, uses theoretical knowledge and art skills in didactical transformation of the contents of Art Education. The aim of the study program is to develop visual literacy of the students and empower them to use its means in culture, that communicates visually, while reflecting their expert knowledge of their art and cultural education, which represents a potential in further development of cultivation and democratization of the society.
