Study programmes

The M.A. study programme of the French language, literature and didactics focuses on further development and deepening of the expertise the basis of which the student acquired during his or her B.A. studies. Linguistic and literary disciplines accompanied by didactic courses (both general ones and those focused on the didactics of the French language) complete the student’s competence in linguistic and literary disciplines as well as his or her historical insight into the field of Romance studies. In this programme, the didactics is focused on the integration of the theory and practise; this fact is manifested in the complex approach to teaching foreign languages in general and especially to teaching French. Lectures and seminars feature activating teaching methods, reflections and self-reflections of both subject and didactic competence, especially of the competence to transform the relevant spheres and levels of his or her expertise into his or her teaching practise. All the courses are taught in French. The curriculum of the follow-up M.A. programme demands higher degree of autonomy and self-study and aims for a greater degree of specialization of the student, i.e. of the future teacher. Alternatively, the programme also makes it possible to the student to strive for his or her doctoral studies.
In compliance with the credit system ETC and with the indirect forms of study check using ICT, the new accreditation enforces the importance of indirect teaching and self-study, i.e. the student’s responsibility for the preservation of European intellectual heritage and for his or her own intellectual, personal and ethic contribution to the process of his or her professional and human maturing.
