In a three-year bachelor's degree programme Czech language with a focus on education we educate bohemists with knowledge of contemporary Czech, its system and use in communication, and with the necessary knowledge of its historical development. The study subjects are chosen and conceived in such a way that the graduate becomes an expert in the field of the Czech language, taking into account the fact that the priority of the bachelor's graduate is the follow-up master's program Teacher training for the second grade of primary school and for secondary school - Czech language. Specific linguistic subjects studied are (for example): Seminar of Czech language associated with introduction into the study and the basics of linguistics, followed by study subjects: Phonetics and phonology of the Czech language, Morphology of the Czech language and variational sociolinguistics, Lexiology and semantics of the Czech language, Syntax of the Czech language and textual linguistics, Development of the Czech language and Stylistics of the Czech language and the theory of language culture.
Didactically focused compulsory subjects are Ontogenetic development of speech and basics of didactics of language and Field practice. These compulsory items are complemented by practically oriented optional courses. At the same time, the emphasis is placed on the development of the student's communication competence.
The literary part of the study primarily focuses on the education of the future teacher, as well as the insightful interpreter of literature. Particular emphasis is placed on a creative approach to the interpretation of literary texts and the cultivation of the ability to communicate about literature with wide general public. The basic subject, on which all other teaching is based, is the theory of literature. The history of literature emphasizes the literature of the 20th and 21st century. The program also includes a seminar of world literature. The study plan also includes a seminar on didactics of literature focused on the development of reading.
Graduates can work in various professions, eg. as a publishing editor, editor, media worker, in the field of education as a tutor or as an assistant teacher.

Graduate profile for the public:
In a three-year bachelor's degree programme Czech language with a focus on education we educate bohemists with knowledge of contemporary Czech, its system and use in communication, and with the necessary knowledge of its historical development. The courses are chosen and conceived so that the graduate becomes an expert in the field of contemporary Czech language and and at the same time is able to put the issue of contemporary language into the context of historical development.
In the language part of the study the graduate will be equipped with a safe knowledge of all areas of grammar, phonetics and phonology, lexicology and stylistics of the Czech language. He/she will be well versed in the historical development of Czech. He/she will acquire basic knowledge of the basics of linguistics. In the literary part of the study the graduate will be equipped with knowledge of basic subdisciplines of literary science, will be familiar with the theory of literature, but also with the historical development of literature and cultural context. Last but not least, the graduate from the literary part of the study will be equipped with the ability to interpret texts of the literature of art. Particular emphasis is placed on a creative approach to the interpretation of literary texts and the cultivation of the ability to communicate about literature with wide general public. The basic subject, on which all other teaching is based, is the theory of literature. The history of literature emphasizes the literature of the 20th and 21st century. The program also includes a seminar of world literature. The study plan also includes a seminar on didactics of literature focused on the development of reading.
The graduate will be equipped with communication skills that can be applied wherever cultural, cultivated and functionally adequate standard language expression is expected, in both spoken and written form, and wherever the skill of a versatile evaluation of linguistic expression or the evaluation of artistic literature is expected. He/she will have excellent prerequisites for further bohemistic and literary material work, eg. at the excerptive level.
There will be widespread possibilities of its application in the humanities, in particular verb fields, in culture, in the state administration, in areas where communication with the public is necessary, in press departments or media (publishing editor, editor), in the field of education (as educator or lecturer). They will also be very useful in all areas where developed social and communication skills are expected (instructors in leisure facilities, etc.). Thanks to his/her linguistic and literary education he/she will be able to participate in less expert positions in linguistic or literary institutions.
