The concept of the study programme is built on the assumption that part of B.A. graduates will start their professional career and find a job and the other part will continue in a follow-up master’s degree in the programme Health Education for lower and higher secondary school educators. The study plan includes subjects that allow the first group to use gained knowledge and skills as childcare educators or leisure time teachers. The study plan also includes subjects that serve as the base for the second group in the follow-up master’s programme.
During the bachelor study team building skills are developed. Special professional personal traits are developed in students through the study contents and work methodology, the stress is put on the ability of self-regulation, healthy self-esteem, self-understanding, empathy and tactics. An essential part of the study programme is a practice. In form of guided observations students are introduced into real conditions of the professions that they are trained for in the bachelor’s and master’s programmes. As part of the practice students visit various types of schools and educational institutions or leisure time activity institutions. Students become familiar with smooth running of these institutions which are, in an interdisciplinary approach, responsible for the implementation of health support system in the Czech Republic. Students learn to analyse and evaluate internal and external factors which influence functioning of the institutions mentioned above. An important part of the concept of the bachelor programme study is a focus on students´ active involvement in individual and team work.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates of the bachelor’s study programme Health Education gain skills and knowledge of both general and specific professional nature. Mainly, they are able to apply knowledge in the field of human health in its bio-psycho-spiritual areas in real situations: to design, apply and evaluate leisure time care and education, to participate in school education of children and youth under the guidance of a teacher participate in, and to apply appropriate forms of communication when in contact with children and adults. In their professional life they are be able to apply and promote principles of healthy lifestyle, health assistance and support, the prevention of risk behaviour. They can apply gained education when designing and applying health support programmes at schools and outside the school environment. They are be able to apply gained general university education in the lifelong cultivation of their own personality and pedagogical work with various types of clients.
