Study programmes

This study programme provides education in linguistics, the history of German written literature, and in culturology. The study of theory is accompanied by practical studies of the German language which focuses on conversation practice, practise of writing skills, and upholding the standard pronunciation and the elimination of language mistakes caused by interfering influences of the mother tongue. In the last year, the study programme is complemented by lessons in didactics in the form of propedeutics focusing on meta-didactics. The students apply their knowledge and skills in a practical seminar and compare it with reality during assisted German language teaching practice at schools. Students have a wide choice of compulsory seminars in which they have the opportunity to develop their competence in linguistics, literature, language, and culturology. The main goal of the bachelor study programme is to establish basis for the Master study programme which prepares teachers of German language in primary and secondary schools. Therefore, a methodological intent of students is gradually formed in all disciplines.

The graduate gains a deeper insight into the individual professional disciplines with improved language competence.
