Zkouška Akademické čtení ověřuje receptivní dovednost porozumění odborným cizojazyčným textům na úrovni B2/C1. Student prokazuje schopnost efektivní práce s odborným textem za pomoci různých čtecích technik (orientační, detailní a selektivní čtení). Dokáže text zasadit do kontextu studovaného oboru, porozumět základnímu smyslu textu jako celku a zachytit specifické informace všeobecného i odborného charakteru. V textu najde důležité podrobnosti, postoje i názory pisatele. Na základě textu prokazuje student znalost odborné slovní zásoby i gramatických struktur relevantních pro odborný text. Zkouška je určena studujícím FF UK.

The aim of the exam is to prove the receptive skill of reading comprehension.
The student demonstrates the ability to effectively work with a continuous professional text at the B2/C1 level, using various reading techniques (orientational, detailed and selective reading).
He/she can place the text in the context of the studied field, understands the basic meaning of the text as a whole and captures specific information. He/she finds important details, attitudes and opinions of the writer in the text.
Based on the text, the student demonstrates knowledge of professional vocabulary and relevant grammatical structures.The exam is intended for Faculty of Arts students.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu -
Zkouška ověřuje receptivní dovednost čtení odborného textu s porozuměním. Zaměřuje se na schopnost porozumění delšímu odbornému textu (pochopení základního smyslu textu i zachycení detailní informace) a jeho zasazení do kontextu studovaného oboru.
NOVĚ od r. 2021/22 lze splnit tuto zkoušku absolvováním předmětu Akademické čteníASZRJ3050, který je s touto zkouškou v záměnnosti.
Zkouška se skládá z přípravy písemných podkladůna základě domácí četby cizojazyčného odborného textua z ústní části(rozbor neznámého i známého textu). Vypracované písemné podklady i celý odborný text (v elektronickém formátu nebo naskenovaný) zašlou studenti na adresu: ladislava.dolanova@ff.cuni.cz minimálně 7 dní před konáním zkoušky (do ukončení zápisu v SIS).
Písemné podklady
zvolený cizojazyčný odborný text v elektronickém formátu nebo naskenovaný v jednom souboru (10–20 NS) se základním bibl. údajem
shrnutí odborného textu s odkazy na příslušné pasáže textu (v češtině, cca 1-2 NS)
vysvětlení základních pojmů textu (cca 5 slov – původní termín v jazyce, český ekvivalent a souvislejší vysvětlení v kontextu zvoleného textu)
Ústní část (probíhá v češtině, cca 20 min.)
rozbor neznámého humanitně zaměřeného odborného textu (rozsah 1–2 NS, otázky k textu v češtině, důraz na globální porozumění textu, klíčová slova, základní vztahy a struktury)
prezentace domácí četby odborného textu (vztah ke studovanému oboru, přínos k dané problematice, argumentace autora a její zhodnocení)
rozbor konkrétní pasáže textu vybrané zkoušejícím (důraz na detailní porozumění textu)
Ústní část probíhá prezenčně (po dohodě s vyučující i mimo oficiálně vypsané termíny). Je u ní povolen jak papírový, tak i online slovník (notebook si zajistí sám student).
Odborný cizojazyčný text (10–20 NS)
Aktuální odborný článek napsaný rodilým mluvčím a/nebo publikovaný v renomovaném zahraničním periodiku či nakladatelství, nepřeložený do češtiny. Článek by měl být pro studenta přínosný, ideálně by se měl věnovat tématu seminární/bakalářské/diplomové práce, nebo se alespoň vztahovat ke studovanému oboru. Doporučujeme vhodnost textu předem zkonzultovat s vyučujícím příslušného jazyka, příp. s oborovými vyučujícími nebo školiteli. Studenti jiných fakult si zvolí odborný text vztahující se k některému z oborů studovaných na FF. Ke zkoušce studenti přinesou text čistý, bez pomocných poznámek. V případě elektronické formy textu studenti zajistí vlastní notebook či tablet.

The Academic Reading exam is usualy taken in the face-to-face form of exam. The use of electronic dictionaries is now permitted. For more information on the requirements for the exam, please scroll down.
The examiner will will give the student an unknown text related to the student’s field of study (1-1,5 standard page), which the student will be asked to read and process in 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, the student will answer questions checking his/her understanding of the main idea.
The second part of the oral exam is dedicated to the student’s presentation of the chosen text and a more in-depth analysis of a randomly assigned passage.
The exam tests academic reading comprehension of a longer specialized text (general as well as detailed understanding) in the context of the studied field.
The exam consists of home reading and preparation of materials based on reading a scholarly text in the selected foreign language relevant to the student’s field of study and an oral part (presentation of the home reading and analysis of an unknown scholarly text).
The written materials and an electronic or scanned copy of the text are to be sent to the examiner no later than 7 days before the date of the exam (the end of registration in SIS). The name of the examiner will be stated with each exam term in SIS.
The written materials
• an electronic version of the selected specialised text of app. 10-20 standard pages or its scanned copy with the main bibliographic details
• summary of the selected text with references to the relevant sections of the text (in Czech, app. 1-2 standard pages)
• explanation of the keywords of the chosen article (app. 5 keywords – the original term, its Czech equivalent and a comprehensive explanation in the context of the selected text)
The oral part (take place in Czech, app. 20 minutes)
• analysis of an unknown scholarly text from the humanities (app. 1 -2 standard pages, questions will be formed in Czech with an emphasis on global understanding of the text, its key terms and basic relationships and structures)
• presentation of the home reading (its relationship to the studied filed, its contribution to the existing body of knowledge, evaluation of the author’s argumentation)
• closer analysis of a specific passage selected by the examiner (emphasis on a detailed understanding of the text) from the specialised text (10–20 standard pages)
