Studenti musí prokázat znalost:
1. orientace v neznámém ekonomickém textu
2. odvozování slov
3. rozsáhlé slovní zásoby v ekonomické oblasti /rozpoznat definice ekonomických pojmů, umět popsat a interpretovat grafy, vysvětlit ekonomické pojmy apod./
4. gramatiky v akademickém kontextu: zdůrazňovací funkce, spojovací výrazy, hedging, formulace faktů a názorů, příčiny a důsledku
Každá část zkoušky je bodově ohodnocena. Celkový počet bodů je 100, k úspěšnému složení zkoušky je nutno dosáhnout minimálně 51% z celkového počtu 100 bodů, tedy 51 bodů. Zkouška se skládá z pěti částí, každá část zkoušky je povinná, pokud student neabsolvuje jednu z částí, bude zkouška považována za nesplněnou, i když bude mít ze zbývajících částí dostatek bodů.
1. Pravidelná domácí příprava 16 bodů
2. Příprava a provedení akademické debaty 18 bodů
3. Argumentativní esej 15 bodů
4. Ústní pohovor 11 bodů
5. Souhrnný test 40 bodů (je třeba dosáhnout minimálně 20 bodů)
Stupnice známkování:
0-50 % = F
51-60 % = E
61-70 % = D
71-80 %=C
81-90 %=B
91% a více=A
Vysvětlivky: A - výtečně (vynikající výkon pouze s drobnými chybami), B - velmi dobře (nadprůměrný výkon avšak s určitými chybami), C - dobře (celkově dobrý výkon s řadou výrazných chyb), D - uspokojivě (přijatelný výkon, ale se značnými nedostatky), E - dostatečně (výkon splňuje minimální požadavky), F – nedostatečně, neprospěl (je zapotřebí značné množství další práce).
ad 1. Pravidelná domácí příprava (od 3. výukového týdne)
Studenti budou ve své složce na Google disku každý týden vypracovávat úkoly dle zadání vyučující. Vypracování všech úkolů je podmínkou k připuštění k souhrnnému testu. Celkem bude 8 úkolů (8 x 2 body). Zadání bude následující:
1.1 Vyučující studentům zašle cvičení na slovní zásobu a gramatiku probíranou v hodině. Studenti cvičení vypracují, vyučující poté zkontroluje a poskytne správné odpovědi. (1 bod)
1.2 Vyučující zároveň se cvičením (1.1) zašle debatní otázku vztahující se k tématu následující hodiny, případně tuto otázku připraví debatní skupina, která si dané téma zvolila. Studenti do své složky stručně zaznamenají argumenty pro a proti, zdroje, kde argumenty našli, a svůj postoj k debatní otázce. (1 bod)
Vše je třeba vypracovat před další hodinou. Pokud nebude úkol odevzdán včas, nedostane za něj student body.
ad 2. Příprava a provedení debaty (v průběhu semestru)
2.1 Studenti ve skupině 5 účastníků připraví debatní otázku, informace potřebné k debatě a slovní zásobu na probírané ekonomické téma. Panelová debata proběhne v hodině. Po ukončení semestru NELZE debaty provádět. Každý účastník debaty je hodnocen jako součást týmu - maximální počet bodů 16. Časový limit na jednoho studenta je přibližně 5 minut.
2.2 Skupina studentů vyhledá minimálně tři zdroje s informacemi týkajícími se zvoleného tématu a pošlou pracovní list se zpracovanými informacemi a zdroji s týdenním předstihem vyučující (viz ukázka v souborech v SIS - Debate Worksheet SAMPLE). Vyučující po posouzení jejich relevance rozešle materiály ostatním studentům z dané paralelky, aby se mohli na debatu připravit. Následně po debatě studenti z debatní skupiny vypracují slovníček, který po schválení vyučující umístí na Quizletu a zašlou na něj vyučující odkaz (viz Wordlist instructions v SIS). Každý student také vypracuje sebereflexi (viz Debate Self-assessment v SIS) a zašle ji do týdne po debatě vyučující.
Každý student, který se právě neúčastní debaty (sedí v publiku), musí vznést v průběhu semestru alespoň jednu otázku na debatní tým (za 2 body).
2.3 Skupina studentů se zapíše na určité datum na začátku LS.

ad 3. Argumentativní esej
Studenti v posledním výukovém týdnu semestru v čase mimo výuku napíší argumentativní esej v rozsahu 700 slov (tolerance plus minus 70 slov). Téma se bude zakládat na jedné z debat, které proběhly v předešlých týdnech v semináři. Vyučující téma zašle emailem, spolu se zdroji, které musí být v eseji také zmíněny. Na napsání eseje budou mít jeden týden a lze ji psát pouze jednou.
Možnost 1 - student napíše celou esej sám.
Možnost 2 - student napíše esej s pomocí nástrojů umělé inteligence. Barevně vyznačí pasáže, které napsal s pomocí textového generátoru a zároveň v poznámkách pod esejí uvede a) jaká zadání/prompty generátoru dal, b) jakým způsobem s vygenerovaným textem pracoval, c) jaký textový generátor (případně jiný AI nástroj) použil s uvedením správné citace pro AI nástroje. Poznámky b) a c) budou dohromady v rozsahu 200 - 300 slov.
Kritéria pro hodnocení - 15 bodů (3x5 bodů)
1. struktura a logické propojení odstavců, správné uvedení zdrojů/reference
2. slovní zásoba a použití relevantního stylu/rejstříku, gramatika
3. jasný vztah mezi zadáním eseje, tezí a závěrem
ad 4. Ústní pohovor (ve zkouškovém období)
Studenti se podle instrukcí vyučující ve dvojicích zapíšou na krátký pohovor, ve kterém jim bude zadáno jedno z probíraných témat a budou mít za úkol na toto téma spolu debatovat za použití zadaných klíčových slov. Studenti budou také v rámci pohovoru vyzváni, aby obhájili svou argumentativní esej. Druhý z dvojice bude mít na esej přiravené otázky.
Kritéria pro hodnocení – 11 bodů
1. použití zadaných slov v kontextu, relevantního rejstříku, spojovacích výrazů; gramatika 4 body
2. argumentace 3,5 bodu
3. příprava otázek na argumentativní esej spolužáka 3,5 bodu
ad 5. Souhrnný test (ve zkouškovém období)
Písemný test - maximální počet bodů je 40, u testu je požadováno dosáhnout alespoň 50% bodů. Body budou započítávány následujícím způsobem:

Studenti mají tři pokusy. Ukázku testu naleznete v SIS (Complex Test Sample). Test se skládá z následujících okruhů:
- Slovní zásoba týkající se témat probraných během semestru
- Popis a analýza grafu
- Gramatika v akademickém kontextu (zdůrazňovací funkce, spojovací výrazy, hedging, formulace faktů a názorů, příčiny a důsledku)

Students have to:
1. be able to read and understand an unknown economic text
2. recognize word formations
3. demonstrate the knowledge of extensive economic vocabulary / through describing graphs, recognising economic definitions etc./
4. be familiar with the grammar of emphatic structures, linking words, hedging, inversion, stating facts and opinions, cause and effect
The assessment of the student´s performance is based on five parts. Each part is compulsory. The total is 100 points, to get the credits a student needs 51% of the total, i.e. 51 points. The examination consists of:
1. Home assignments 16 points
2. Preparation and performance in academic debate 18 points
3. Argumentative essay 15 points
4.Oral examination 11 points
5. Complex Test 40 points (minimum of 20 points to be achieved)
The assessment scale:
0-50 % = F

A - outstanding performance with only minor errors, B - above the average standard but with some errors, C - generally sound work with a number of notable errors, D - fair but with significant shortcomings, E - performance meets the minimum criteria, F - fail – considerable further work is required
ad 1. Regular home assignments (commencing during the third week of the term)
Students are asked to complete home assignments as per the instructions of their teacher and save their work in the Google folder (8 assignments, each assignment 3 points). Students can take the Complex test upon the completion of all assigned work. There will be two parts to each assignment:
1.1 Exercise testing the terms and grammatical features discussed during individual seminars. Students are asked to complete the exercise and subsequently their teacher will check the answers and provide the key (1 point).
1.2 Students will receive a motion relating to the topic of the upcoming seminar and in their Google folder they will register pros and cons, sources of information and their opening statement/their stance (1 point).
Both tasks are to be completed prior to the upcoming seminar. If a student fails to do so, he/she will not gain any points for the tasks.
ad 2. Requirements for the preparation and performance in an academic debate during the summer term:
Students are asked to:
2 1.prepare a debate in a group of min. 5 students on an economic topic which corresponds with the seminar topic, provide all necessary information and key words. The panel discussion will take place during a seminar. No debate after the end of the summer term will be accepted. Each student is assessed as a part of the team. The time limit for one student is about 5 minutes. The total of points is 16.
2.2 The group of students will provide at least three sources containing information relevant to the selected topic and send a worksheet with processed information and sources one week in advance to their teacher for approval (for Debate Worksheet Sample go to SIS, files). After being approved the teacher will send such materials to the rest of the students of the relevant seminar group so they can study the information and be prepared for the upcoming debate.
Following the debate the students of the debating group will create a vocabulary list which after having it approved by the teacher will post on Quizlet and send a link to the teacher (see Wordlist instructions on SIS). Each member of the debating group will be asked to prepare his/her self-assessment and send it to his/her teacher (see Debate Self-assessment in SIS files).
Every single student – when in the audience - will have one question per term ready to ask the debating team (2 points).
2.3 Groups of students will sign up for a certain date in person at the beginning of the summer term or during office hours.
Those students who do not attend seminars should contact the teacher by the middle of March.

ad 3. Argumentative essay
During the final week of the term students will be asked to write an argumentative essay (700 words plus minus 70 words) based on one of the topics which will arise out of the debates held during our seminars. Such a topic will be sent out to students via email together with sources that should be mentioned in their argumentative essay. Students are to submit their argumentative essay within a week and have one attempt to write it.
Option 1 – students are asked to write their entire argumentative essay on their own, i.e. without any AI tools.
Option 2 – students may write their argumentative essay with the help of AI tools. However, they will be asked to highlight the passages which were produced with the help of a text generator and at the same time state a/ prompts submitted to the text generator b) adjustments made to the generated text, c) which text generator (or some other AI tool) was used while stating the correct AI referencing. NB: Notes b) and c) should be of approximately 200 - 300 words.
Assessment criteria - 15 points (3 x 5 points)
1 Structure and logical transition from one paragraph to the next/ references
2 Vocabulary and use of relevant style, grammar
3 Clear connection between the title of the essay, the thesis statement and the concluding remarks
ad 4. Oral examination (during the examination period)
Students are to sign up in pairs for a brief online interview as per instructions provided by their teacher. During such interview they will be asked to debate one of the topics using a set of assigned terms. Further on, they will be invited to defend their argumentative essay while being posed a set of questions by their colleague.
Assessment criteria (11 points)
Appropriate use of terms in context, grammar, relevant register, and connectors 4 points
Argumentation 3,5 points
Preparation of relevant questions to be posed during the defense 3,5 points
ad 5. Complex test (during the examination period)
