Kurz navazuje na v úvodní kurz mikroekonomie (JEB003,EB101), rozšiřuje známé a představuje nové koncepty. Je zaměřen na spotřebitelské chování, zejména na preference, optimální volbu spotřebitele, spotřebitelskou poptávku, projevené preference, měření změn blahobytu, spotřebitelský výběr za nejistoty a spotřebitelovo rozhodování v čase.

The course builds on the introductory microeconomics course (JEB003 or JEB101). It extends students' prior knowledge by introducing new concepts while applying standard analytic methods. It focuses on consumer behavior theory, including special topics on consumer preferences, optimal choice, consumer demand, revealed preferences, the measurement of welfare changes, intertemporal choice, and choice under uncertainty.

Grades
The final grade will consist of three parts. In total, you can earn 100 points, divided into the following:
Midterm - max 30 points
Two home assignments (maximum 10 points each, in total 20 points)
Final exam (maximum 50 points) – Students must get at least 25 points (i.e., 50%) from the final exam to pass the course.
Home assignments should be completed individually or in groups of two students (unmatched students can get matched upon request, but working in groups is not guaranteed). They will contain exercises similar to those presented in the exercise sessions but will be of greater difficulty.

Midterm exam will cover questions from particular topics and will last around 80 minutes, starting at 12:30 in room 109. Midterm is scheduled for March 31.
During the semester, you will have a chance to take short quizzes in Moodle for you to practice what you have learned. These quizzes are completely voluntary and you don’t get any points for taking them. Questions (sometimes slightly modified) from these quizzes will appear in topic exams.
The final grade depends on the total points collected (as follows from the Dean's Provision No. 20/2019), while it is required to get at least 25 points in the final exam:
A: Points > 90
B: 80< Points ≤ 90
C: 70< Points ≤ 80
D: 60< Points ≤ 70
E: 50< Points ≤ 60
F: Points ≤ 50
Exams
There will be four dates for the final exam:
May 26th, 2025 12:30- 14:30, room 109
June 9th, 2025 12:30- 14:30, room 109
June 23th, 2025 12:30- 14:30, room 109
September 1st, 2025 12:30- 14:30, room 109
The time limit is 120 mins. The maximum points you can get is 50. It will be a closed-book exam. You are NOT allowed to use any books or notes as well as internet-enabled electronic devices. You can use a calculator. Any other electronic devices (including mobile phones) are strictly prohibited.
