Anotace

Knowledge and understanding of oral disease prevention, with an emphasis on the prevention and prophylaxis of oral diseases related to dental plaque, poor dietary habits, and lifestyle. The role of fluorides in dental caries prevention. The role of diet in dental caries prevention and dietary recommendations. Non-carious hard dental tissue defects. Epidemiology of oral diseases. Initial carious lesions: onset, dynamics, and therapy.

Cíl předmětu

1. To acquire adequate professional knowledge of:

• dental caries (aetiology and diagnostics),
• prevention of dental caries,
• tooth wear (aetiology, diagnostics),
• dental microbial plaque and its role in oral diseases,
• periodontal diseases (classification, diagnostics),
• smoking and oral diseases,
• periodontal diseasesand relating to general health.

2. To learn basic practical skills in the given field.
