SP characteristics
The study program prepares physics teachers for upper and lower secondary school. It extends the bachelor studies where the student got the fundamental expertise needed to teach physics in upper and lower secondary school. It includes some of the more challenging aspects of physics as well as a professional preparation and training (e.g., pedagogical and psychological sciences, management of school, didactics of physics, problem solving methods, practical courses in school experiments and teaching practice). A wide range of optional courses and a choice of thesis topic enables the students to expand their knowledge in areas that interest them and where they want to specialised.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates are fully qualified physics teachers for upper and lower secondary school. Their knowledge of physics is sufficiently broad and deep to work with talented students. They are able to apply their knowledge to problem solving, to experiments and discussions concerning modern technologies as well as every day life. They have a high level of computer literacy and ICT usage. They can transmit knowledge and skills in physics. They have developed skills necessary to motivate students, to direct their work and they use various pedagogical and psychological methods to teach and educate students successfully in a real school environment. They have sufficient practical teaching experience and they have obtained basic knowledge of the organization of the school. During the work on their thesis (in the case of programme maior) they gained a deeper knowledge of some parts of physics and its education, or of a second certified subject (in the case of minor programme). This allows them to communicate with specialists and it can be the starting point of their further education.
