The follow-up master's degree programme of Teacher Education of Chemistry for Lower and Upper Secondary Schools prepares chemistry teachers for lower-secondary schools and upper-secondary secondary schools where chemistry is a school subject of a general nature. During their studies, students deepen their professional chemical knowledge and skills, but in particular they acquire training in didactics of chemistry, in general pedagogical and psychological disciplines and in selected chemical disciplines extending basics learnt in the bachelor's degree. An important component consists of both the learning experience and the educational practice.

Graduates of the Master's program Teacher Education of Chemistry for Lower and Upper Secondary Schools are fully qualified chemistry teachers as a general education subject at lower and upper-secondary schools. However, their studies will allow them to work outside the education sector, for example, in the state administration or youth facilities where they can work as leisure-time educators.
