SP characteristics

The follow-up Master’s programme prepares graduates for independent careers in the field. At the same time, graduates are equipped with a more profound theoretical grounding and factographical knowledge, practical skills and significant interdisciplinary contacts with related humanities (cultural anthropology, history and art history, in particular) as well as selected sciences (physical anthropology, paleobiology and others). Students in the major programme also acquire advanced practical skills in using sophisticated software, measurement equipment, statistical analysis methods and others. More specialized orientations are expected in Master’s students.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates have a more advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of archaeology in the Czech Lands and are able to view archaeology from a European perspective. They are equipped with the basic critical apparatus, an awareness of the potential and limitations of archaeological research, and skills in independent work in this field. They have a grounding in the interdisciplinary relations of archaeology and other humanities and sciences. Graduates can seek employment in specialised archaeological heritage organisations, research institutes and museums.
