Kurz je věnován evropskému a českému umění 19. století. V jeho rámci je charakterizovány historické a ideové zdroje evropského klasicismu, romantismu a vůbec historizujících proudů v umění 19.
století. Dále sleduje zrod moderního umění v díle realistů, impresionistů, symbolistů a secesionistů. Kromě toho nastiňuje jednotlivé umělecké proudy v rámci "českých" dějin umění od konce 18. století až do doby kolem roku 1900.

The course is dedicated to European and Czech art of the 19th century. It characterizes the historical and ideological sources of European classicism, romanticism and historicizing currents in art of the 19th century.

. Zapamatování
•Studenti si zapamatují klíčové historické a ideové zdroje evropského klasicismu, romantismu a historizujících trendů v umění 19. století.
•Studenti si zapamatují hlavní umělecké směry a jejich klíčové představitele, včetně realismu, impresionismu, symbolismu a secese.
•Studenti si zapamatují hlavní fáze a trendy české umělecké historie od konce 18. století až do roku 1900.
2. Porozumění
•Studenti pochopí historické a ideové základy hlavních evropských uměleckých směrů 19. století, včetně jejich kulturního a filozofického kontextu.
•Studenti pochopí, jak tyto evropské umělecké směry (klasicismus, romantismus, realismus atd.) ovlivnily vývoj moderního umění.
•Studenti pochopí vývoj české umělecké historie a její vztah k širším evropským uměleckým směrům.
3. Aplikace
•Studenti aplikují své porozumění evropské a české umělecké historii k analýze a porovnání konkrétních uměleckých děl z různých období 19. století.
•Studenti aplikují znalosti o různých směrech (např. realismus, impresionismus) k interpretaci a kritice uměleckých děl v jejich historickém a ideovém kontextu.
•Studenti aplikují své porozumění české umělecké historii k identifikaci jejích přínosů k širším evropským trendům.
4. Analýza
•Studenti analyzují vztah mezi různými uměleckými směry 19. století a jejich historickými kontexty.
•Studenti porovnávají různé přístupy realistů, impresionistů, symbolistů a secese z hlediska jejich uměleckých cílů a technik.
•Studenti analyzují vliv evropských uměleckých směrů na české umění a vývoj těchto směrů.
5. Hodnocení
•Studenti hodnotí vliv evropských uměleckých směrů (např. romantismus, klasicismus) na vývoj moderního umění.
•Studenti posuzují roli českého umění v kontextu evropské umělecké historie a jeho význam při formování širšího uměleckého světa.
•Studenti hodnotí kulturní a filozofický význam uměleckých trendů, které studují, z hlediska jejich sociálních a politických dopadů.
6. Tvorba
•Studenti vytvářejí vlastní interpretace a analýzy uměleckých děl z různých směrů, syntetizují znalosti z různých uměleckých stylů a historických kontextů.
•Studenti navrhují projekty nebo výzkumné práce, které zkoumají vzájemné propojení evropských a českých uměleckých směrů se zaměřením na jejich trvalý dopad na moderní a současné umění.
•Studenti navrhují nové přístupy k interpretaci vývoje umění 19. století v Evropě a v Čechách, propojující historické trendy se současnými uměleckými praktikami a teoriemi.
Tento přístup pomáhá studentům nejen zapamatovat a pochopit klíčové umělecké směry, ale také je aplikovat, analyzovat, hodnotit a vytvářet nové poznatky na základě jejich znalostí o umění 19. století.

• Students will recall the main stages and trends of Czech art history from the late 18th century to around 1900.

• Students will understand the historical and ideological foundations of the major European art movements of the 19th century, including their cultural and philosophical context.
• Students will comprehend how these European art movements (Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, etc.) influenced the evolution of modern art.
• Students will grasp the development of Czech art history and its relationship with broader European artistic movements.
3. Applying
• Students will apply their understanding of European and Czech art history to analyze and compare specific works of art from different periods of the 19th century.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu - angličtina
In the fall term, there will be a written test based on pictures, which will be selected concerning the lectures, and it will take into account the art collection of the National Gallery in Prague. There will be 20 pictures (projected on a screen). The aim is to identify the author, title, date, and style/-ism of a projected artwork.
