Kurz je věnován evropskému a českému umění 19. století. V jeho rámci je charakterizovány historické a ideové zdroje evropského klasicismu, romantismu a vůbec historizujících proudů v umění 19.
století. Dále sleduje zrod moderního umění v díle realistů, impresionistů, symbolistů a secesionistů. Kromě toho nastiňuje jednotlivé umělecké proudy v rámci "českých" dějin umění od konce 18. století až do doby kolem roku 1900.

1. Zapamatování
• Studenti si zapamatují klíčové historické a ideové zdroje evropského klasicismu, romantismu a historizujících uměleckých směrů.
• Naučí se rozpoznávat a charakterizovat hlavní umělecké směry 19. století (realismus, impresionismus, symbolismus, secese) a jejich představitele.
• Zapamatují si základní vývoj českého umění od konce 18. století do roku 1900.
2. Porozumění
• Porozumí historickým a ideovým kořenům evropských uměleckých směrů (klasicismus, romantismus, historismus) a jejich vlivu na umění 19. století.
• Pochopí vývoj moderního umění a změny, které přinesli realisté, impresionisté, symbolisté a secesionisté.
• Porozumí vývoji českého umění a jeho souvislostem s evropskými uměleckými směry.
3. Aplikace
• Aplikují získané vědomosti na konkrétní umělecké dílo, porovnání různých uměleckých směrů a jejich vliv na společenské a kulturní kontexty.
• Použijí historické a ideové zdroje k analýze a interpretaci děl z období klasicismu, romantismu a moderního umění.
• Aplikují teoretické znalosti na konkrétní příklady z české umělecké historie.
4. Analýza
• Analyzují vliv jednotlivých uměleckých směrů (klasicismus, romantismus, atd.) na vývoj umění 19. století v Evropě a v Čechách.
• Porovnávají různé umělecké přístupy a jejich vliv na estetiky a společenské změny v daném období.
• Rozebírají specifické rysy českého umění v kontextu evropských trendů.
5. Hodnocení
• Hodnotí vliv jednotlivých uměleckých směrů (např. realisté vs. impresionisté) na celkové kulturní a sociální změny v 19. století.
• Posuzují kvalitu a inovativnost českého umění ve srovnání s evropskými proudy.
• Vyhodnocují důležitost historizujících směrů pro vývoj umění a jejich přínos pro moderní umění.
6. Tvorba
• Tvoří vlastní interpretace děl z 19. století na základě pochopení uměleckých směrů a jejich historického kontextu.

• Students will remember the basic development of Czech art from the late 18th century to around 1900.

• Students will understand the historical and ideological roots of European art movements (Classicism, Romanticism, Historicism) and their influence on 19th-century art.

In the fall term, there will be a written test based on pictures, which will be selected concerning the lectures, and it will take into account the art collection of the National Gallery in Prague. There will be 20 pictures (projected on a screen). The aim is to identify the author, title, date, and style/-ism of a projected artwork.
