Seminář studenty seznámí s tím, jak navrhovat akademický výzkum tak, aby navazoval na relevantní literaturu, rozvíjel zajímavou výzkumnou otázku a předkládal přesvědčivý argument.
Po absolvování kurzu studenti získají základní porozumění logice výzkumu ve společenských vědách, se zvláštním důrazem na kvalitativní výzkum. Studenti pochopí význam metodologie pro akademické psaní a vztah mezi metodologií a teorií. Kurz zakončí tím, že své znalosti uplatní při tvorbě vlastního výzkumného projektu.
Tento kurz je povinný pro programy European Politics and Society, Master in Area Studies a Balkan, Eurasian and Central European Studies. Studenti z jiných programů se do kurzu nemohou zapsat z důvodu omezené kapacity.
Kurz je určen pouze pro studenty magisterských programů.

The seminar will introduce students to how to design academic research so that it speaks to relevant literature, develops an interesting research question, and presents a persuasive argument.
Upon completing the course students will acquire a basic understanding of the logic of research in social sciences, particularly focusing on qualitative research. Students will understand the relevance of methodology for academic writing and the relationship between methodology and theory. Students will conclude the course by putting their knowledge into action, in the creation of their research project.
This course is a compulsory course for European Politics and Society (classes at 14:00 and 15:30), and Master in Area Studies and Balkan, Eurasian and Central European Studies (class at 11:00). Students from other programmes cannot register in the course due to limited capacity.
The course is open only for students of master's degree programmes.
