Course requirements Course requirements include attendance and class participation, a class presentation, and a final paper. Students are requested to consult with the instructor on the topic of their presentation, which shall correspond to one of the thematic areas covered by the course as listed below (due February 25, 2019). Students are required to submit their presentations/handouts before the scheduled presentation to the particular class lecturer. The presentation should focus on the topic discussed with the lecturer and should consist of short background of the topic, the analysis of the issue and relevant conclusions. The analysis should prevail over description only. The presentation should not exceed 30 mins (even in case of joint presentation). The written summary of the presentation based on comments voiced during the class discussion should be sumbitted to a class lecturer as well as course leader no later than 1 weeks after the presentation. The written presentations should be approximately three to five pages long and contain a list of consulted sources. Both presentation (including presentation summary) and final paper will be evaluated with grade A-E and F (failed). The final grade is the average sum of the two parts with final paper as more decisive factor in case of two different grades. All submission deadlines for papers are obligatory. Students must pass all assignments in order to pass the course. Papers will be assessed based on the first draft submitted.
