This course is primarily designed to provide general knowledge regarding the structure of the EU, its functioning, institutions, key policies and law. EU law and its sources will be presented especially in the light of their effects in the national legal orders of EU Member states. The course is a prerequisite for the course European Law II, which focuses primarily on EU Internal Market Law.
