Social psychology is one of the subdisciplines of psychology and focuses on how people interact, how they influence each other and how they judge others. This course builds on the Basics of Psychology and deepens knowledge in specific areas of interest in social psychology. We will get acquainted in more detail with topics such as socialization, identity in a social context, attitudes, school class as a small group, social cognition, group and social influences, prosocial behavior, stereotypes and prejudices. Emphasis will be placed on usability in a pedagogical context.

The course has 5 credits according to ECTS. Expected preparation time for 1 hour of lecture 25 minutes, expected preparation time for 1 hour of seminar 25 minutes, self-study of literature (for the whole semester) 20 hours, work with study materials (for the whole semester) 19 hours, fulfillment of continuous tasks (for the whole semester) 15 hours. The exam has two parts: 1. Seminar task, the assignment will be specified individually, presentation of the results (fulfillment necessary for taking a written test) 2. Written test (50% of the grade): The test consists of various types of closed questions, and the condition of fulfillment is 70% of correct answers It is required to take both parts of the exam.
