Aim of the course
Results:
The student acquires theoretical knowledge about the classification of periodontal diseases, periodontal examination and periodontal treatment.
The student acquires basic practical skills in periodontal examination and treatment on models in the phantom laboratory.

Course assessment methods and requirements for successful completion, grading scheme
Credit
Credit will be awarded to a student who:
has properly completed the practical training in a given semester (any absence must be properly compensated),
has demonstrated sufficient knowledge during the continuous examination,
passes the credit test with at least 75%. In the event of failure to achieve at least 75% in the test, an oral examination in the scope of this subject will follow.
In the case of repeating a study obligation, the student is required to complete the study obligation in its entirety.

Practical classes take place in the phantom laboratory of the Department of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Hradec Králové. Students practice periodontal examination on a model, calculus removal and maintenance of instruments (sharpening/grinding).
