Annotation
The course content involves mastering the issues, options, and methods of preventing oral diseases, with an emphasis on the prevention and prophylaxis of oral cavity diseases associated with dental microbial plaque, improper dietary habits, and lifestyle. It includes initial carious lesions, their formation, dynamics, and therapy, as well as the importance of fluoride in the prevention of dental caries.

Aim of the course

1. To acquire adequate professional knowledge of:

  • dental caries (aetiology and diagnostics),
  • prevention of dental caries,
  • dental tooth wear (aetiology, diagnostics),
  • dental microbial plaque and its role in oral diseases,
  • periodontal diseases (classification, diagnostics),
  • smoking and oral diseases,
  • periodontal diseasesand their relation to general health.

2. To learn basic practical skills in the given field.
