Internal medicine – Geriatrics is taught during one-week clinical rotation at the Department of Geriatrics 1.LF and
VFN in the broader context of general internal medicine. During the rotation students receive theoretical
background and clinical practice and demonstrations in the form of lectures, seminars and bedside training
focused on specific aspects of clinical presentation, diagnostic workout and treatment of common diseases in old
age.

Multimorbidity, disability, frequent geriatric syndromes; Pharmacological treatment in old age.
Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) - health status, physical performance and self-sufficiency, nutrition, frailty, mental status, geriatric risk stratification with the use of standardized assessment tools and scales.
