The bachelor´s programme of study Orthodox Theology provides the student with a deep insight into Orthodox dogmatic theology and the study of liturgy and develops his or her analytical and interpretative skills. The programme of study is focused on professional formation of future deacons, pastoral assistants or other employees of the Orthodox Church. It is based primarily on theological disciplines and secondarily on humanities. The creative activities include mainly research focused on a broad field of Orthodox Theology-related issues.

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate of the bachelor´s programme of study Orthodox Theology has achieved a profound knowledge in the field of Orthodox dogmatic theology and the study of liturgy together with fundamental knowledge of biblical studies, church history, patrology, pastoral psychology, philosophy and source languages (New Testament Greek, Latin or biblical Hebrew). The graduate is qualified to work as a deacon or pastoral assistant in the Orthodox Church.
The graduate of the programme of study gains comprehensive knowledge and skills, both theoretical and practical, to perform a specific theological vocation. The graduate is able to perform church rites and other activities at the deacon level and translate source language texts. The graduate can work in state, private and non-profit religious organizations.
The graduate is qualified to pursue studies in the master´s programme of study Orthodox Theology, which is a continuation of the bachelor’s programme.
