The Bachelor's program Religious Studies aims at providing fundamental knowledge of Religious Studies as a scientific discipline. The graduate has acquired knowledge of methodology in the study field and through the knowledge of challenges of the Religious Studies of the past gets also acknowledged with the history of the study field. He or she can get insight into the Religious Studies in the context of other scientific disciplines and make use of their methods in his or her own research with considerable extent and depth. He or she must pass at least three courses on each of the three monotheist religious traditions to become familiar with the “Abrahamic religions”. At the same time, he or she is given tools to understand the role of religion in the contemporary post-modern society.

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate of the Bachelor's program Religious studies is skilled in methodology of the study field and knows various solutions of the fundamental theoretical questions of the study field. He is acknowledged with the development of Christianity, its fundamental roots and their dogmatic expressions. He or she is informed in classical religious texts of Judaism and understands the sense of profane and sacred religious behaviour. He or she can identify and trace fundamental concepts of Judaism that played an important role in the formation of the younger religious traditions of Christianity and Islam. He is familiar with the conditions of the birth of Islam, the initial stages of its formation and reflections of these events in the canonical scriptures of Muslims. He or she understands various forms of Muslim spirituality and their outward expressions. He or she can understand the specific nature of post-modern society and get insight into the role of religion and a wide variety of its forms in the contemporary society.
Together with this knowledge, the graduate of the Bachelor's program Religious Studies gains the ability to work with academic and religious literature. He or she can read academic texts with an understanding and critical approach and can gradually join scholarly debate. He or she can analyse religious phenomena and posit them into the structures of monotheist traditions.
Drawing on his or her knowledge acquired, the graduate of the Bachelor's program Religious Studies can find employment in religion-related fields: local or state administration in the area of intercultural or interreligious relations, social services and healthcare, foreign trade, security departments, non-profit organizations, schooling and education or media.
The graduate is qualified to pursue his or her studies in the continuing Master's program Religious Studies.
