Our study programme in Teacher Training in Russian Language for Upper Secondary Schools is designed as an academically oriented study primarily focused on the language, which is placed in a broader cultural and social context and the didactic context. The graduate profile of teacher training programmes offered by Charles University’s Faculty of Arts corresponds to the profile of a beginning teacher in various types of schools, from upper-primary/lower-secondary level (and its equivalents) to various types of secondary schools (and their equivalents) to adult education institutions. Upon completion of the programme, our graduates are fully qualified for teaching Russian in secondary schools, equipped with the basic competences to carry out this profession. The studies are primarily oriented towards teaching practice, providing graduates with a theoretical as well as practical grounding which facilitates their entry into the profession.
