The main goal of the seminar is to present recent "decentring" trends in the Anglo-American historiography, above all those applying conceptual frameworks of symbolical anthropology. Crucial texts in the field of historical antropology and microhistory, which illustrate its development since the early 1990s, will be discussed in two introductory blocks. Within the concluding lessons we will focus on more theoretical subjects, such as a role of evidence, limits of historical representations or a effects of storytelling on traditional historiography (within this context, special attention will be paid to texts of Natalie Z. Davis). The course consists of four thematical blocks and it is intended for a broader scale of foreign students interested in current approaches to history, including the participants in European master Course TEMA and Erasmus Mundus students. The both final list of texts and time schedule will be provided at the first meeting which takes place at the end of February (cf. below).
