This course focuses on the noble families of the lands of the Bohemian Crown. We will deal not only with the political history but also with confessional, social and cultural history. The principal objective of this course is to present comprehensively the influence of the Czech noble families on the development of Czech society and the Czech state over the centuries in the context of Central European and European history. The course will focus on the diplomatic services in Europe and their impact on the international relations and the development of society, political systems and culture. The noble families will be mentioned sucha as the family of Rosenbergs, Kolowrats, Czerníns, Schwarzenbergs, Schwambergs, Sternbergs, Lobkowicz’s, Nostitz family, Colleredo-Mannsfelds, Kinský’s, Liechtenstein, Martinitz etc.
