This course introduces the sociological study of emotions in concrete social situations. Most people think of emotions as a purely internal experience, composed solely of physiological and psychological elements. Emotions are also phenomena most people usually think of as ‘natural'. Sociologists are
interested into how emotions are socially constructed and socially constituting.
