The course will be held every two weeks. According to the program, I will give a brief introduction to the film in
English for a few minutes before the screening, and then I will show the film. After the film, there will be an
opportunity to evaluate the film and share your individual perspectives. This year's program will feature Hungarian
comedies around the 1940s:

Feb. 27. Fairy Tale Auto (Meseautó, 1934)
Mar. 13. One Fool Makes a Hundred (Egy bolond százat csinál, 1942)
March 27: One Skirt, one Pants (Egy szoknya, egy nadrág, 1943)
April 10: Mickey Magnate (Mágnás Miska, 1949)
May 22: Presentations


However, it might change a bit, as I need to consult with a representative of the Hungarian National Film Institute
regarding copyright issues.

Examination:
on 22 May, students in groups of 6-8 will make a 15-20 minute presentation together about one of the films. They
will also prepare and distribute a 1-page creative exercise sheet. After the presentation, the group will coordinate a
10-minute discussion based on the exercise sheet. Please, send the presentation to my email address until 17
May (midnight).
These groups will be formed during the first class, on 27 February.
It is preferable if the film is compared with the original work, but not a prerequisite, other approaches are possible.
However, please avoid to repeat the story of the film. Introduce new insights, individual perspectives and a
comparative approach to film history.<br>
At most one absence is allowed, as there is no possibility to make up for missed classes.
