Course main focus in the Summer semester 2023/24 is detailed analysis of philosophical arguments in David Hume´s Enquiry concerning Principles of Morals (ECPM), work considered by the author as his masterpiece. This reading is essential for understandig of Hume´s moral and political philosophy treated as an application of his "science of human nature", originally developed in his A Treatise of Human Nature.
Students are expected to present her/his understanding particular arguments from ECPM during the semester and write a final academic essay (3000 words).

The word count should include all footnotes, endnotes, and quotations but should exclude the bibliography. Please include the word count on the title page of your coursework. General criteria for marking are: Understanding / Core Knowledge, Critical Evaluation, Argumentative Reasoning, Use of Sources & Literature, Citation & Bibliography, and Clarity of Presentation. Marking: 40% presentations during semester, 60% final essay.
