This is the final exam, not a regular course, that builds on courses Czech language for Beginners, Czech (Pre)-Intermediate and Intermediate I and II.
The exam focuses on basic communication competence in Czech, including key grammatical structures as well as sociocultural competence.
It can be taken independently or after taking the four Czech courses.
Topics and structures:
1. Meeting people for the first time: Verb to be
2. Giving and asking for personal information: Numbers
3. Ordering and shopping for food: Grammatical gender, accusative
4. Describing people around us: Grammatical gender, verbs and verb conjugations
5. Making an appointment: Modal verbs, telling time
6. Describing what happened: Past tense
7. Making plans: Future tense
8. Housing: Plurals
9. Human body, doctor: Accusative constructions
10. Travelling around: Prefixes
11. Comparing things and people: Adverbs and adjectives, comparatives
12. Communication and Technology: Dative constructions
13. Imaginary situations: Conditionals
14. Weights and measurements: Genitive constructions
15. Talking about and at work, job interview
16. Culture: reflexive verbs
17. Talking about the Czech Republic: dialects
18. Czech national holidays: Verb aspect

The exam has two parts: oral and written. In the oral part, interview with the teacher takes place first, picture description and comparison and then a short conversation with a partner on a given topic. Next, there is a written test. Both parts cover the topics of Česky krok za krokem 1 and the two-year Czech course here at the faculty. It is not necessary to take these courses. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Before you take this exam, you need to complete ONE of the following: 1. participate in the Czech language course at the faculty and successfully complete it OR 2. participate in the TANDEM course (YBAJ081) and successfully compete it OR 3. complete the required reading and presentation assignment based on a consultation with the teacher.
