The course introduces students to the basics of propositional and predicate logic. Students also get acquainted with the classification of deceptive arguments, which they then use in the analysis of texts. The aim of the course is for students to be able to assess the correctness of arguments using knowledge of the basics of logic. Furthermore, students should be able to analyze misleading arguments when analyzing a text. Content definition: 1. Basic concepts - semiotics, the relationship of inference and syllogysm. 2. Propositional logic - determination of the truth value of a compound proposition, analysis of the correctness of the argument, language of propositional logic. 3. Predicate logic - quantifiers, relation to propositional logic, De Morgan's laws, refutation of judgment by an example. 4. Evidence procedures (direct, dispute, induction). 5. Venn diagrams. 6. Necessary and sufficient condition 7. Argumentation, deceptive arguments - use in text analysis.
