Anotace

The course aims to introduce students to the field of lexicology and embraces the topics related to the form and meaning of words, including the morphological structure of words, word formation, the concept of meaning, its types and variuos approaches to its study, and paradigmatic and syntagmatic sense relations. Moreover, it covers the issue of word origin and borrowing.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu

CREDIT awarded for:

1)  a classroom activity:  create a classroom activity dealing with a chosen lexicological topic  (the deadline will be negotiated)

2)  compulsory homework in Moodle: obligatory exercises focused on the topics dealt with during the course (the deadline for the completion will be negotiated)

3)  active participation in the seminars: lecture and seminar handouts for every session can be downloaded from Moodle
