Zvláštnosti anglického odborného jazyka z hlediska lexikálního, gramatického a stylistického s přihlédnutím k
danému oboru (jazykové prostředky typické pro odborný matematický diskurz). Kurz slouží jako příprava k
mezinárodní zkoušce z angličtiny pro matematiky a je zařazen do bodového systému fakulty. Zápočet z kurzu je
podmínkou pro přihlášení ke zkoušce English for Mathematicians, Unicert III.
Zápis tohoto předmětu je z kapacitních důvodů omezen. Předmět je určen především pro studenty od 2. ročníku
výše.

English for specific purposes (ESP) - grammar, vocabulary, style, specialized texts on mathematics. The course is
a preparation course for an international examination in English for mathematicians and it is included in the credit
system of the Faculty. The credit is a one of the requirements for the examination English for Mathematicians,
UNIcert III.
Enrollment in this subject is limited. The subject is open for students from the second year of their study.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu -
Pro splnění požadavků je nutná pravidelná docházka, aktivní účast v diskuzích na cvičeních, a plnění průběžně zadávaných úkolů. Povaha kontroly studia předmětu vylučuje opakování této kontroly.

To meet the requirements it is necessary to participate in class regularly, actively work in the classroom and fulfill all homework assignments. The nature of the subject's examination excludes the repetition of such examination.

Sylabus -
Kurz rozvíjí dovednosti potřebné k porozumění matematickým textům, vysvětlení jejich obsahu a významu a diskusi o jejich relevanci a vztahu k dalším oblastem matematiky a vlastnímu výzkumu. Konkrétní témata volí studenti podle svých zájmů. Širší tematické zaměření odpovídá mezinárodní zkoušce Unicert III - English for Mathematicians. Součástí je rozvoj slovní zásoby, frazeologie, gramatiky i výslovnosti.

The course develops skills related to understanding mathematical texts, communicating their content and meaning, and discussing their relevance and relationship to other parts of mathematics and your own research. Specific topics are chosen by students according to their interests. The broader thematic focus corresponds to the international Unicert III - English for Mathematicians exam. The course also enhances your vocabulary, phraseology, grammar and pronunciation.
