This course is intended for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in animal and human physiology. A basic knowledge of physiology and
proficient English are prerequisite requirements for participation in this course. The course focuses on discussing new findings in the field of physiology and neuroscience. In each seminar, notable achievements of the past decade will be presented and subsequently discussed. Information about suggested topics will be provided during the first lecture. Each lecturer will present a review of selected research topic in his/her introductory lecture, followed by a discussion with students. For the subsequent seminar (Journal Club), all students will read suggested research article(s) related to the lectured topic and these articles will be subjected to a detailed analysis and thoroughly discussed. A special attention will be paid to methods, data interpretation and potencial study limitations. The list of topics will be modified every year.
