Kurz Botanická nomenklatura poskytuje studentům magisterského studia komplexní úvod do mezinárodních pravidel upravujících vědecké názvosloví rostlin, řas a hub. Důraz je kladen na teoretické základy a praktický význam Mezinárodního kódu nomenklatury pro řasy, houby a rostliny (ICN) jako univerzálního rámce zajišťujícího nomenklatorickou stabilitu a jednoznačnost v botanických vědách. Prostřednictvím historického přehledu vývoje nomenklatury, mezinárodních botanických kongresů a činnosti nomenklatorických komisí získají studenti vhled do vzniku a správy pravidel názvosloví. Podrobný výklad jednotlivých článků Kódu je podpořen četnými praktickými příklady, které umožňují aplikaci zásad, jako jsou typifikace, priorita, platné publikování a citace autorů. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována chráněným a zamítnutým jménům, pravopisným otázkám a specifickým nomenklatorickým problémům, včetně složitých případů u hub. Kurz vybavuje studenty znalostmi a kompetencemi nezbytnými pro správné a odpovědné používání botanických jmen ve výzkumu, sbírkách a vědecké komunikaci.

The course Botanical nomenclature provides MSc students with a comprehensive introduction to the international rules governing the scientific naming of plants, algae, and fungi. It emphasizes the theoretical foundations and practical importance of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN) as a universal framework ensuring nomenclatural stability and clarity in botanical sciences. Through a historical overview of nomenclature development, international botanical congresses, and the work of nomenclature committees, students gain insight into the evolution and governance of naming rules. Detailed interpretation of individual articles of the Code is supported by numerous practical examples, allowing students to apply principles such as typification, priority, valid publication, and author citation. Special attention is given to conserved and rejected names, orthographic issues, and specific nomenclatural problems, including complex cases in fungi. The course equips students with the knowledge and competence required for correct and responsible use of botanical names in research, collections, and scientific communication.

2. Zásady a pravidla botanické nomenklatury; doporučení. Postupné probírání jednotlivých pravidel, vysvětlení jednotlivých článků, příklady:
taxony, hierarchická úroveň
typifikace, priorita
jména taxonů v různých hierarchických úrovních
účinné a platné uveřejnění
citace jmen autorů, citace literatury pro potřeby nomenklatury
zamítnutí jmen
ortografie jmen
specifické případy (jména hub s pleomorfickým cyklem apod.)
