Předmět se zaměřuje na umění ve veřejném prostoru a jeho různé formy, funkce a ideologické kontexty. Studenti se seznámí s metodikou psaní recenzí na výstavy a získají praktickou zkušenost návštěvou vybraných uměleckých institucí v Praze. Kurz zahrnuje přednášky o významných uměleckých lokalitách, jako je Bílkova vila, Národní památník na Vítkově či Dům U Černé Matky Boží, a zaměřuje se na témata, jako je vztah umění a náboženství, politická ideologie, modernismus, postmodernismus a národní identita. Výstupem kurzu budou studentské recenze na vybrané výstavy, které budou společně analyzovány a diskutovány.

1. Zapamatování • Studenti identifikují významné umělecké lokality v Praze. • Vyjmenují klíčové pojmy jako modernismus, postmodernismus, národní identita. 2. Porozumění • Vysvětlí vztah umění a politické ideologie. • Shrnou funkce umění ve veřejném prostoru. 3. Aplikace • Použijí metodiku psaní recenzí na konkrétní výstavy. • Interpretují význam vybraného uměleckého díla ve vztahu k veřejnému prostoru. 4. Analýza • Porovnají různé ideologické kontexty vybraných uměleckých děl. • Rozliší modernistické a postmodernistické přístupy v architektuře a sochařství veřejného prostoru. 5. Hodnocení • Kriticky zhodnotí výstavu na základě odborných kritérií. • Diskutují o úspěšnosti konkrétních uměleckých intervencí ve veřejném prostoru. 6. Tvorba (Creating) • Navrhnou vlastní koncepci umělecké instalace pro veřejný prostor. • Sepíší recenzi na výstavu s originálním pohledem a argumentací.
