Cílem tohoto kurzu je prozkoumat jeden z nejdůležitějších současných bilaterálních vztahů – vztahy mezi Čínskou lidovou republikou a Spojenými státy. V rámci kurzu budeme analyzovat klíčové otázky ovlivňující vztah mezi Pekingem a Washingtonem, od strategických úvah a mezinárodních rolí obou aktérů po ekonomickou spolupráci, vnitřní výzvy. Zaměříme se také na domácí faktory, které jsou důležité pro utváření bilaterálního vztahu. Dynamika čínsko-amerických vztahů bude ilustrována na několika případových studiích (Tchaj-wan, Jihočínské moře atd.).
Kurz je určen pouze pro studenty magisterských programů.
Kurz je vyučován v anglickém jazyce.

The purpose of this course is to look into one of the most important contemporary bilateral relationships - relations between the PRC and the United States. Within the scope of the course, we will analyze key issues that influence the Beijing-Washington relationship, from strategic considerations and international roles played by both actors to economic cooperation, internal governance and challenges. We will also examine some domestic factors instrumental in shaping the bilateral relationship. The dynamics of Sino-American relations will be illustrated by several case studies (Taiwan, South China Sea, etc.).
The course is open only to students of master's degree programs.
