Anotace - angličtina
The course introduces students to current approaches in studying religious and spiritual diversity in European societies in particular. It is based on theoretical study, but its core lies in seminar works providing the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in research. The students will engage in the pertinent societal issues arising from the need to manage religious diversity in dynamic modern societies.

Monday, 12.30, Jinonice B103B, with exceptions on 23.3. and 11.5., when half of the class will meet at 17. 00. 20.4. we dont meet in Jinonice but in Voršilská for the lecture and walk at 16.00.

Course completion requirements:

In-person attendance at lectures and seminars is mandatory. Students may be absent from a maximum of two lectures or seminars. Exceeding this limit will result in an inability to complete the course. Students facing serious or exceptional circumstances are expected to contact Barbora Spalová to discuss their situation.

Students will be expected to read the key texts (highlighted below) closely. Starting from Class 6, they will present their research projects.

Students will be evaluated based on their seminar presentations (max 12+18 points), their homework responses to the literature (max 20 points, 4 responses a 5 points), and the final paper (max 50 points) they submit at the end of the class. Active participation in every class is required and will be monitored.  

Every student must work in a small team to prepare a final paper on a chosen topic related to the course subject (see the "list of topics" in the course material).  

Final paper length: ca. 2 500 words for a two-member team and 3 500 words for a three-member team (references excluded). To pass the exam, students must obtain at least 25 points.  

Grades:

Presentations and tests: 0 – 50 points  

Final paper: 0 – 50 points 

A: 100 – 90 points

B: 89 – 80 points

C: 79–70

D: 69-60

E: 59-50

F: <50
