The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to the political system and political development of Czechoslovakia and its successor states, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, since 1918 up today.
The course will be divided into 4 parts:
1.) Czechoslovakia 1918-1945 - so called First Republic, World War II., Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia, Slovak Republic;
2.) Czechoslovakia 1945-1992 - Communist regime, reform attempts in 1960s, normalization, so called Velvet Revolution, split of Czechoslovakia;
3.) Czech Republic after 1993 - political system and political development of an independent state
4.) Slovakia after 1993 - political system and political development of an independent state
