Anotace - angličtina
A bachelor’s thesis is usually the first comprehensive academic work authored by students. Importantly, a successful defence of a BA thesis is one of the requirements to finish the study and receive the BA degree. Since the path to writing a BA thesis is quite long with many challenges, the course starts this process with essential assistance.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu - angličtina

The course is finished with a course credit. The course teacher gives the credits after the student’s supervisor registers the BA Thesis Project in the SIS based on the student’s proposal. Thus, to get the credits, first have your supervisor register your thesis in the SIS, then fill out the form and submit it so the course teacher is aware of the registration.

The course credit will be given no later than September 15, 2026. Nonetheless, it is highly recommended to register the BA Thesis Project before the summer break.

Metody výuky - angličtina

To share materials and plan the semester, we will use the electronic platform Moodle. Generally, meeting attendance is not mandatory, so students do not have to apologise for an absence. Still, students are strongly advised to attend all relevant thematic seminars and make the most of the course's help to prepare a high-quality BA thesis.

Students may employ generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity and similar, provided that the following conditions are met. Specifically, they may be used for the purposes of proofreading, text analysis, translations, searching for sources or consulting research ideas. On the contrary, the prohibition of use applies to the text creation of thesis projects. Any use must be cited in the final output of the thesis project in accordance with academic rules. Any violation of these rules will result in failure to complete the course or disciplinary proceedings, depending on its severity. Only compliance with the aforementioned rules will guarantee the fulfilment of the educational objectives of the course, protect equal conditions for all students, and also ensure their privacy. The aforementioned potential sanctions also apply to any plagiarism.

Individual Consultations

Students can discuss the preparation of their master’s thesis with the teacher during individual consultations. Before that, do not forget to reserve special office hours for this course. These meetings are voluntary, and they might be helpful mainly before finding a supervisor – after that, the supervisor is a primary assistant in preparing the Master's Thesis Project and the thesis as such.

Students can also reserve standard office hours, propose a special time for an individual meeting, and the same assistance is offered via e-mail.
