- website of appropriate country MFA (please, review this kind of information properly and critically). - books and monographs about the foreign policy of each country - scholarly journal articles (you can use the university databases - EBSCO, JStore, Factive, EastView and other sources) - analytical newspaper articles (each position paper should contain at least three sources of information, Wikipedia is prohibited to quote).

Each session will be based on presentation of the diplomat (appr. 40-50 minutes) followed by Q&A from the public. ALL SEMINARS ARE ORGANIZED STRICTLY UNDER CHATHAM HOUSE RULE!!! 1. Active participation in the seminar. The presence on the seminar will be requested and participation list will be distributed during each seminar. Only one unexcused absence in the seminar is allowed within the term. The absence in the seminar should be announced to the lecturer before the start of each seminar via e-mail or SMS. In general the reasons for absence are illness and research/study stay outside Prague (other private activities such as holidays/weekends are not counted as the excuse). 2. Position papers. The student should prepare 1-1,5 page (500-600 words) position paper delivered by Friday before scheduled session. The paper have to include: - 2-3 questions you want to ask the guest during the session (each student will have the right to ask at least one question). The position papers will be reviewed before seminar (if submitted on time), but will not be part of the final evaluation. However, student should submit at least 90% of position papers.
3. Final essay. Final essay should be an original academic text with foot/endnotes and sources about 2000-3000 words submited by the end of May. The paper should analyse foreign policy of one of the states presented on the seminar in more details, critical analysis of guest's self-presentation within the seminar and analysis of bilateral relations with Czech Republic (or your respective country) based on the session and your own research. Other specific topic is possible but it has to conform with the seminar and agreed with the lecturer b the end of March. Plagiatory. Copying any materials from any other source without appropriate quotations will be considered as plagiatory (even within position papers!!) and will be treated according to the Dean's Directive No. 5/2006: Measures against Plagiarism. Further participation on the seminar will be allowed, however the student will not be able to get final evaluation. The case will be passed on the Disciplinary Commitee of the Faculty.
