Anotace - angličtina
While aiming at providing a comprehensive understanding of the role of communication in promoting sustainability among children and youth, the course will equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge to foster sustainable practices through effective communication strategies. The module will particularly explore the themes of sustainability in the group of children and young people, and the modes of sustainable communication to support sustainable childhood experiences of current children and youth, with the focus on the EU context with questions: What do children and young people think about sustainability? How do they perceive and experience sustainability? What is the phenomena of the ecological blue in children and youth? How is participation and social inclusion linked to sustainability and sustainable communication with children and young people in different institutional, organizational, social and policy contexts? How can society support sustainable experiences for children and young people? How children and young people contribute to the sustainable societies as active participants? What is sustainable communication and how it supports sustainable experiences of childhoods in current children and youth in educational, social and cultural context? How sustainable communication applied by adults in youth-adult relationships support and empower children and young people in their active inclusion, participation, autonomy and well-being – and overall sustainable experiences of childhood in their development? What is the role of communication in promoting sustainability among children and youth. What is the role of media, and ICT in sustainable education?

Lecture 2: Children’s Perspectives on Sustainability

  • Understanding the principles of environmental sustainability, social sustainability, and economic sustainability.

  • Sustainable development goals (SDGs) and children

  • Critical comparative analysis of children's views on sustainability in global perspective

Lecture 3: Ecological Blue in Children and Youth, Environmental Child-Friendliness and Sustainability for Children and Youth

  • The phenomenon of ecological blue (sense of environmental responsibility and awareness): Psychological, social and cultural aspects
